Friday Flash: Do you buy Lululemon?

Until I heard this piece on NPR I pronounced this company Lulu MOON. Funny, huh?

I've never purchased anything so fancy for exercise, and definitely won't now.

Sigh, I wish running was still low-tech, sustainable 1970's style.

  1. And overall finish times were better in the 70s than today...

  2. I haven't listened to the piece yet, but will. No, I've never purchased any uber-expensive clothing like that. I've looked at it but just can't think it can be justified!

  3. I have a headband from Lululemon that I bought out of desperation when I forgot to bring one for a race this summer. Otherwise, I just can't really justify spending that much money on a tank top.

  4. I haven't ever even browsed their website. I refuse to pay $$$ for running clothes. I'm a little more easy-going for shoes, but shirts/shorts, not spending a lot on those. I wish I was more low-key/old-fashioned/simple too!

  5. I have a lot of friends (nice people) who love their clothing, and there's one in Boulder, but I've never been able to justify spending the $$$. I listened to the piece. I'm not an Ayn Rand fan at all--I haven't read Atlas Shrugged, but I read The Fountainhead in college. What a scary woman she must have been! The scene I remember is the rape scene. Not a philosophy I care to embrace, but it seems to be something 18-year-old guys love.
